More than 300 runners come out to compete each year in the annual summertime running of Algonac’s Pickerel Run, which is one of St. Clair County’s flattest and fastest road running events. The event offers a 5K Run, 5K Walk, or a Kid’s 1/4 Mile – all starting and finishing in the same area.

New in 2020! All finishers receive a medal!

Runners get an opportunity to record a personal best on our courses, which are run through the neighborhoods of Algonac, and the only race to finish on the boardwalk of the St. Clair River.

After you finish, all participants are treated to a warm breakfast of pancakes, bacon, sausage and coffee!  Our gracious hosts, the Algonac Fire Department, will also have the fire trucks on display for the kiddos!

Parking
There will be available parking at the Algonac Mall Shopping Center. We kindly ask that you DO NOT park on the lawns of the surrounding homes or along the streets where designated parking is not available. Please be advised, the Algonac Police Department has asked that no one park along the streets. Use the available parking lots.

Course and Amenities
The Start Lines will be located on Columbia Street, next to the Algonac Post Office. The Finish Line will be located on the boardwalk, along the St. Clair River, directly across from the Algonac Post Office and Algonac Fire Department.

A water station will be located near the half-way point on the 5K course. Please plan accordingly.

Bathroom facilities will be available at the Start and Finish Line areas.

Pancake Breakfast
A FREE pancake breakfast, presented by the Algonac Fire Department, will be available to all participants following the race in the Algonac Fire Hall. The breakfast will include pancakes, sausage or bacon and coffee. All non-participants will be asked for a donation, with the proceeds benefiting the Algonac Fire Department.

Awards
All finisher’s will receive a medal!
