About Recipient Rights Mental Health
Recipients of community mental health services have certain rights guaranteed by the Michigan Mental Health Code and the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act. The employees of St. Clair County Community Mental Health Authority and its provider network are responsible for promoting and protecting these rights.
"Your Rights" Booklet
Recipients of community mental health services will receive a summary of their rights at their initial appointment and annually thereafter. The "Your Rights" booklet is prepared by the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services and outlines the rights guaranteed by the Michigan Mental Health Code.
